Does the world really need another ELVIS Presley compilation? Well, it does, actually. Unlike some of the more haphazard reissues, LOVE, ELVIS is a collection with a focus, bringing together 23 of the King's best ballads and love songs... It has been done before, but never in such a nice, big, well-chosen chunk. Elvis himself always idolized the cool lounge style of Dean Martin, and while Presley's menacing, sexually charged early rock & roll hits revolutionized popular music, he could also be a seductive crooner with the best of them. LOVE, ELVIS is a stylish, cohesive package that showcases this softer side of the King to full advantage. While some of the later material from the 1970s is no match for timeless classics like "It's Now or Never" and "Love Me Tender," all of the songs fit seamlessly together in an inspired, non-chronological sequence.

This scan back 6x17 camera is extremely fast. The image results are comparable to a one-shot digital or film back. This is possible thanks to a very high read-out speed of 300 MB per second - 100x faster than for any existing scan back. The fastest exposure speed is 1/20'000 - or one second for the entire 6x17 scan at full resolution!
Compared to previous surface sensors, the sensitivity of the Seitz D3 sensor is significantly higher. Or compared to conventional scanning cameras, the sensitivity is increased by factor 100. This results in a very broad ISO/ASA range (equivalent) of 500 to 10,000, which makes this camera the perfect instrument for virtually all light situations. Our new stage selection technology allows to control sensitivity by selecting smaller or larger areas of the sensor. This means: additional sensitivity without any additional noise!
We designed this camera to meet the expectations of those photographers who like to take their equipment on exploratory adventures.
All components are fully modular - the tablet PC (control, display and storage device) can be adapted to your specific needs.
The camera can also be used in the studio, running the software from a computer (Mac, PC, Linux) via gigabit ethernet connection.
For best image results we recommend using the advanced Schneider or Rodenstock lenses on a Seitz lens board.
Another possibility is to use large-format lenses of existing 6x17 panoramic cameras such as Linhof Technorama, Fuji and others. These lenses are connected to the Seitz camera on an optional adaptor plate.

Gamma-Ray Burst Challenges Theory

In a series of landmark observations gathered over a period of four months, NASA's Swift satellite has challenged some of astronomers' fundamental ideas about gamma-ray bursts (GRBs), which are among the most extreme events in our universe. GRBs are the explosive deaths of very massive stars, some of which eject jets that can release in a matter of seconds the same amount of energy that the sun will radiate over its 10-billion-year lifetime.
When GRB jets slam into nearby interstellar gas, the resulting collision generates an intense afterglow that can radiate brightly in X-rays and other wavelengths for several weeks. Swift, however, has monitored a GRB whose afterglow remained visible for more than 125 days in the satellite's X-ray Telescope (XRT).
The outer envelope of the star explodes outward, causing a supernova. Deep at the heart of this event, the core has shrunk into a fantastically dense magnetar, a neutron star possessing a magnetic field trillions or even quadrillions of times stronger than Earth's. Swift's Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) detected the GRB in the constellation Pictor on July 29, 2006. The XRT picked up GRB 060729 (named for its date of detection) 124 seconds after BAT's detection. Normally, the XRT monitors an afterglow for a week or two until it fades to near invisibility. But for the July 29 burst, the afterglow started off so bright and faded so slowly that the XRT could regularly monitor it for months, and the instrument was still able to detect it in late November. The burst's distance from Earth (it was much closer than many GRBs) was also a factor in XRT's ability to monitor the afterglow for such an extended period.
The slow fading of the X-ray afterglow has several important ramifications for our understanding of GRBs. "It requires a larger energy injection than what we normally see in bursts, and may require continuous energy input from the central engine," says astronomer Dirk Grupe of Penn State University, University Park, Penn., and lead author of an international team that reports these results in an upcoming issue of the Astrophysical Journal.
One possibility is that the GRB's central engine was a magnetar — a neutron star with an ultra-powerful magnetic field. The magnetar's magnetic field acts like a brake, forcing the star's rotation rate to spin-down rapidly. The energy of this spin-down can be converted into magnetic energy that is continuously injected into the initial blast wave that triggered the GRB. Calculations by paper coauthor Xiang-Yu Wang of Penn State show that this energy could power the observed X-ray afterglow and keep it shining for months.
A burst observed on January 10, 2007, also suggests that magnetars power some GRBs. GRB 070110's X-ray afterglow remained nearly constant in brightness for 5 hours, then faded rapidly more than tenfold. In another paper submitted to the Astrophysical Journal, an international group led by Eleonora Troja of the INAF—IASF of Palermo, Italy, proposes that a magnetar best explains these observations. "People have thought for a long time that GRBs are black holes being born, but scientists are now thinking of other possibilities," says Swift principal investigator Neil Gehrels of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., a co-author on both studies. Another surprising result from GRB 060729 is that the X-ray afterglow displayed no sharp decrease in brightness over the 125-day period that it was detected by the XRT. Using widely accepted theory, Grupe and his colleagues conclude that the angle of the GRB's jet must have been at least 28 degrees wide. In contrast, most GRB jets are thought to have very narrow opening angles of only about 5 degrees. "The much wider opening angle seen in GRB 060729 suggests a much larger energy release than we typically see in GRBs," says Grupe.

Bu poster 80'lerin ortasında Güney Avustralya'da piyasaya sürülmüş ve çabucak geri toplatılmış. Nedeni aşağıda görülüyor.. Bu grafiği tasarlayan ve içine şaka olsun diye bunu yerleştiren ressam bunun bir kamyonun arkasında büyük haliyle birinin dikkatini çekeceğini düşünememiş. Ressam kovulmuş ve mahkemeye verilmiş,posterler de alelacele toplatılıp yokedilmiş.

Kartallar ve insanlar
Kartal,kus turleri icinde en uzun yasayanidir. 70 yila kadar yasayan kartallar vardir. Ancak bu yasa ulasmak icin,40 yasindayken cok ciddi ve zor bir karar vermek zorundadir. Kartalin yasi 40'a vardiginda penceleri sertlesir,esnekligini yitirir ve bu nedenle de beslenmesini sagladigi avlarini kavrayip tutamaz duruma gelir. Gagasi uzar ve gogsune dogru kivrilir.
Kanatlari yaslanir ve agirlasir. Tuyleri kartlasir ve kalinlasir. Artik kartalin ucmasi iyice zorlasmistir. Dolayisiyla kartal burada iki secimden birini yapmak zorundadir:
- Ya olumu sececektir,
- Ya da yeniden dogusun acili ve zorlu surecini gogusleyecektir.Bu yeniden dogus sureci 150 gun kadar surecektir. Bu yonde karar verirse kartal bir dagin tepesine ucar ve orada bir kaya duvarda, artik ucmasina gerek olmayan bir yerde, yuvasinda kalir. Bu uygun yeri bulduktan sonra kartal gagasini sert bir sekilde kayaya vurmaya baslar. En sonunda kartalin gagasi yerinden sokulur ve duser. Kartal bir sure yeni gagasinin cikmasini bekler. Gagasi ciktiktan sonra bu yeni gaga ile pencelerini yerinden soker cikarir. Yeni penceleri cikinca kartal bu kez eski kartlasmis tuylerini yolmaya baslar. 5 ay sonra kartal, kendisine 20 yil veya daha uzun sureli bir yasam bagislayan meshur yeniden dogus ucusunu yapmaya hazir duruma gelir.
Kendi yasamimizda sIk sIk bir yeniden dogus sureci yasamak zorunda kaliriz. Zafer ucusunu surdurmek icin, bize aci veren eski aliskanliklarimizdan, geleneklerimizden ve anilarimizdan kurtulmak zorundayiz.Ancak gecmisin gereksiz safrasindan kurtuldugumuzda, deneyimlerimizin yeniden dogusumuzun getirecegi olaganustu sonuclarindan tam olarak yararlanabiliriz. yeni dogmus bir kartal kadar guclu ve gecmisten elde edilen butun birikimlerle donanmis olarak Kucaklayabildiginiz tum sevgiler sizinle olsun ...

Schlotzsky's Deli, Massimo Dutti, Nine West ve Mc Donalds'ın önünden, Burger King ve Marks&Spencer'ın olduğu tarafa geçtim, Lacoste ve Mango'ya baktım, üşümüştüm, Starbucks'a daldım, macchiato büyük geliyor, espresso tercih ettim, oradan D&R'ye girdim, Auto Show, Chip ve Cosmopolitan aldım , Crown Cafe, Veni Vidi ve Norht Shield'in önünden yürüyerek, New York Bagel Factory'e geldim, acıkmıştım, fast food severim, ayıptır söylemesi.
Philadelphia cream cheese'li bagel ve üstüne pancake yedim, o sırada masada bulunan bir gazetenin Look ilavesine göz attım, alışverişin zamanı diyor, iyi fikir, taksiye bindim, kapısında Taxi yazıyor, önümde giden otomobilin arka camında da baby on board yazıyor, Fenerium'un önünden, Nautilus'un solundan geçip, Capitol'un oraya çıktık, trafik kilit, "oh my god" dedi şoför arkadaş, döndük mecburen, TEM'den gideceğiz.
Incity, Kent Plus, Uphill, My World, Moontown, Diamond, Suncity ve Highpark'ın arasından köprüye çıktık, Mashattan sağımızda kaldı, biz sola döndük, Metrocity'nin önünde indim, ağız alışkanlığı "thank you" dedim şoföre, o da "see you" dedi bana, Metrocity'e girmedim , Harvey Nichols'ı merak ediyorum, Angelo Nardelli, Bally, Bashqua, Carnevale, Perigot, Haaz, Fornarina, So Chic, Patrizia Pepe, Swarovski, Scabal, Birkenstock, Cesare Paciotti, Furla, Shisly, Momtobe, Only, Mandarina Duck, Via Pelle ve Kaloo'ya şöyle bir bakıp, Harvey Nichols'a girdim, pahalı, daha bir halk tipi shopping center 'a gideyim dedim, şöyle insanların gönlünce öldüğü, çocukların dövüldüğü falan bir yer, başka bir Yellow Taxi 'ye bindim, radyoda Joy FM açıktı, şoför baktı ki bende Türk tipi var, Power Türk'e çevirdi
Sivaslı Hadise stir me up'ı söylüyordu, dinleye dinleye İstanbul'un biggest alışveriş merkezine geldim, Soleil, Dry, Fleor, Bernardo, Tchibo, De Facto, Jujube, Saffio, Best, Jump, Sun, Silver, Oxxo, Seven Hill, Evita, Bleu Petrol, Sunset, Oysho, Colors, Perspective, Lovesyou, Fever, Little Big, Ravelli, Red Apple, Next, Miss Trendy, Shoeroom, Lilies , hepsi çok güzel, Waly'de ayakkabımı boyatıp, Flower'dan çiçek aldım.
Advantage Platinum'u yanıma almayı unutmuşum, Mastercard Gold ile ödedim, parayı öderken aklıma geldi, arada bir çalışıyormuş gibi yapmak da lazım tabii, işe geldim.

Ulan diyorum başka bir kelime bulamıyorum çünkü, haysitetsiz, geri kafalı başkan senin BABANDIR ÇOK ŞEKERLİ KAHVE İÇEN...!
Artık Türkiye'nin elden gittiğini, yavaş yavaş değil çok hızlı bunu yaptıklarını görmeyenlere söylüyorum...

Hani nerede bu RÜTÜK hani sorarım sizlere, kaymakamda aynı masada oturuyormuş ses çıkarmamış... Sanada bıravo KAYMAKAM!
Bir fıkra aklıma geldi KAYMAKAM ile ama anlatmıyorum siz zaten biliyorsunuzdur!!!!
Başkan Bey’in Atatürk fıkrası!..
İSTANBUL’da Mimarsinan Belediye Başkanı AKP’li Cuma Bozgeyik hem çok bilgili (!), hem de çok büyük mizah anlayışına sahip. Kalabalık ortamlarda piyasaya çıkıp fıkra mıkra anlatıyor.
Son fıkrasını Habertürk ekranında kendi sesinden dinledim. Ertesi gün bu fıkranın bant çözümünü, yani káğıda dökülmüş biçimini orada görevli arkadaşlardan istedim. Sağolsunlar, faksladılar.
AKP’li Belediye Başkanı Cuma Bozgeyik, dinleyici topluluğuna aynen şunları anlatıyor;
- Başkan: "Kaymakam Bey, Kuşadası’nda kaymakamlık yaptı. Orada bir efe var, müthiş Atatürk hayranı. Atatürk deyince adam hemen ayağa zıplıyor, selam duruyor. Şöyle oluyor böyle oluyor filan. Şimdi gün oluyor harman oluyor, Atatürk’ün yolu Aydın’a düşüyor. Kuşadası’na. Şimdi efe de, istasyon meydanında çayhanesi var. Atatürk deyince adamın aklına böyle iriyarı, böyle palabıyıklı, ne bileyim üniforması filan, her şeyi ile böyle dev gibi bir adam hayal ediyor. Süslüyor dükkánını. İstasyona iner inmez ona çay kahve ikram edecek. Bekliyorlar. Şimdi tren geliyor, yavaş yavaş yanaşıyor. Bizim efe her şeyi ile hazır vaziyette. Trenden inecek o güçlü, heybetli, cüsseli adamı bekliyor şimdi. İniyor kısa boylu bir adam. Bıyık mıyık da yok.
- Dinleyenler: Ha ha haaa... (Gülüyorlar.)
- Başkan: Efe yıkılıyor bir kere şimdi. Olsun diyor, yüreği büyüktür bizim Ata’nın diyor. Sesi mesi gürdür şimdi filan. Tabii o zamanlarda televizyon melevizyon yok. Sesini filan bilmiyorlar. Konuşuyor. Sesi cılız bir adam. Eyvah, efe bir daha gidiyor.
- Dinleyenler: Ha ha haaa... (Gülüyorlar.)
- Başkan: Bütün hayaller suya düşüyor yavaş yavaş. Olsun diyor, yüreği şeydir, büyüktür diyor. Geliyor şimdi. Ne içersiniz sayın paşam? Kahve diyor. Nasıl olsun? Şekerli olsun diyor. Yapma be paşam diyor. Böyle yığılıyor herif.
- Dinleyenler: Ha ha haaa... (Gülüyorlar.)
- Başkan: Ha ha haaa... Bunu da mı yapacaktın bana diyor. Ha ha haaa... Efendim özür dilerim, o yörede şekerli kahveyi ibneler içermiş... Ve bizim adam orada düşüp bayılıyor... Ha ha haa... Hi hi hiiii..."
Bir kamu görevlisinin, AKP’li belediye başkanının "mizah" anlayışından size küçük bir örnek! İlk cümlesinden anlaşıldığı kadarıyla yanında devletin kaymakamı da var. Herhalde o da sesini çıkarmıyor, belki de kahkahalarla eşlik etmekten utanmıyor.
Adam tümüyle yutturuyor. Kuşadası’nda tren olduğunu, istasyon olduğunu söylüyor. Kuşadası’na tren getiriyor!
Ama daha da önemlisi, Atatürk’ü hangi iğrenç ve aşağılayıcı kavramla özdeşleştirdiği!.. Atatürk düşmanlığını milletten korkup açıktan yapamayanlar, böyle sinsi yöntemlere başvuruyorlar.
Şimdi İçişleri Bakanı Abdülkadir Aksu’ya soruyorum:
Kendi partinizden olan bu belediye başkanı hakkında işlem başlattınız mı? Başlatmayı düşünüyor musunuz? Aynı soruyu Adalet Bakanı Cemil Çiçek ve cumhuriyet savcılarına da soruyorum.
İstanbul’dan okuyucum mali müşavir Volkan Kıvılcım yazıyor: "İstanbul’un en eski ilçelerinden Eyüp’teki Atatürk anıtı, o büyük adama zaten yakışmayan bir yerde. Şimdi anıtın bulunduğu arsaya inşaat başladı. Anıtla inşaat arasına bir de sac perde yerleştirildi. Atatürk hemen önündeki inşaatı ve sac perdeyi selamlar vaziyette duruyor. Ben de size Ankara’dan bir manzara aktarayım! Sıhhıye’deki Atatürk Zafer Anıtı, Atatürk Bulvarı’nın tam ortasındadır. Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesi, bu heykelin önüne ve arkasına bayrak direkleri dikti. Direklerde AB bayrakları ile Ankara’ya layık gördüğü o hilkat garibesi, utanç verici kubbeli mubbeli amblem dalgalanıyor!.. Herhalde koskoca Ankara’da bu saçma sapan şeyleri asacak başka yer bulamadılar ve Atatürk anıtını bunlarla donattılar!
Başbakan, İçişleri Bakanı, Ankara Valisi oradan her gün geçerler. Acaba Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nin bu marifetini görürler mi, görmezler mi, yoksa görmezden mi gelirler!

O mavi gözlü bir devdi.
Minnacık bir kadın sevdi.
Kadının hayali minnacık bir evdi,
bahçesinde ebruliii
hanımeli
açan bir ev.
Bir dev gibi seviyordu dev.
Ve elleri öyle büyük işler için
hazırlanmıştı ki devin,
yapamazdı yapısını,
çalamazdı kapısını

Rahata acıktı kadın
